Mackenzie Stuart is currently recruiting for an ambitious and experienced Financial Controller who will report into the Finance Director of a major Construction firm. The role is based in Houston, TX. This role will offer unrivalled exposure to the senior management: therefore the candidate needs to be of the highest calibre, demonstrating commercial awareness in addition to having the required technical skills. 


This organisation has undergone a recent transformation in the last twelve months and the newly appointed Financial Controller is a key role to play in assisting management to achieve their ambitious plans for this business. 

The responsibilities of the Finance Controller include, but are not limited to the following: 

*Overall responsibility for financial reporting and strategic management, including Group reporting and budgetary control requirements 
*Will supervise 4 staff members 
*Responsible for the finance function - financial and management accounts, budgets, cash flow forecasts and working capital, including providing information on project costing, margins, revenue analysis, productivity, profitability etc 
*Liaising with key stakeholders including auditors and investors 
*Manage the forecasting model and produce budgets vs. actual analysis. 
*The writing of quality, accurate reports, highlighting findings, conclusions and recommendations for review with relevant parties. 
*Adhoc projects - Acquisitions and due diligence. 


The preferred candidate will: 

*Possess in-depth knowledge of financial and management accounting along with integral knowledge of all financial and accounting procedures. 
*Prior experience within a leading Construction/ Housebuilding Firm. 
*Knowledge of the US Construction Industry. 
*A qualified accountant - CPA 
*Multilingual - Preferable 

Appropriate candidates will possess excellent academics along with a recognised accountancy qualification. You must also be able to demonstrate excellent presentation skills and a proven leader to manage a team.
