Ambition has partnered with a leading global real estate investment management firm based in the West End of London to employ an Associate Director - Fund Controller. 

Based minutes' walk from Green Park tube station, our client has 24 offices in 17 countries around the world. Currently, global AUM sits at just over $55 billion. 

The objective of the role is to offer a best-in-class' service to our clients and our internal business stakeholders at all times.

As the Associate Director - Fund Controller, you will be responsible for a number of international and cross-border mandates and large separate accounts with the specific objective of ensuring the firm meets its accounting and reporting obligations set out in individual client/fund agreements.

You will report directly to the Finance Director who heads up the International and large custom mandates team with AUM of £5.5bn. This role will have one direct report.

As the Associate Director - Fund Controller, your key responsibilities will include:

- Management of the accounting, consolidation and reporting processes for the International mandates, including quarterly financial statements, investor reporting, cash management (including capital calls and distribution), annual financial statements, performance management, off shore fund management, audits and investor requests.
- Oversight of the audit process and tax compliance, including appointment and co-ordination of external advisors.
- Serving as a single point of contact for internal fund managers, portfolio managers and asset managers
- Assisting in the origination and management of debt finance and FX instruments
- Assisting in due diligence and structuring of new investments
- Assisting with the implementation of best practices in all aspects of fund accounting
- Responsible for the management and development of a junior accountant

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate most of the following skills & attributes:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant with relevant 3-5 years PQE ideally in a Real Estate organisation
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently as well as being a team player able to adapt to different personalities and styles
- Strong work ethic and positive can-do' attitude with ability to meet deadlines and take initiative
- High level attention to detail and conduct sense checks on all work
- Outgoing personality and ability to engage at all levels
- Fund and/or property accounting knowledge would be an asset
