Leading UK Brokerage is searching for a Financial Accounting Manager to have responsibility for financial accounting and controls for their growing business. This role has been created by due to an expansion of the organisation and is an ideal opportunity for a candidate who is looking to take ownership of a role.

Responsibilities:

* Responsibility for the accuracy of the firm's financial books and records.
* Research accounting and financial impact of new products and markets.
* Development of functional business requirements for enhancements to existing financial and operational systems.
* Manage daily, weekly and monthly work of accounting staff.
* Liaising with Regulatory, Treasury and Clearing for liquidity, capital and custody requirements.
* Plan, coordinate and manage audits and regulatory examinations: financial audit, client money audit, etc.
* Member of the CASS committee. 
* Advising the Board of Directors on financial matters.
* Responsibility for all procedures related to good financial controls.

Requirements:

* Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, FCAA, FCA).
* Relevant accounting experience at an FCA registered securities broker dealer holding custody or client money or equivalent experience working with a financial regulator.
* Relevant accounting knowledge and experience in working with equities, foreign exchange, metals and derivatives.
* Strong Knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards
* Excellent Academic Background - Minimum 2:1 Degree

This role requires regulator interaction with key stakeholders across the UK and Global offices and it is therefore essential the candidate has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. There is realistic progression in this role to move into the CFO position in the future.
