A well known Financial Services firm based in the City are looking to add to their accounting function through the appointment of a nearly or newly qualified Financial Accountant. The Financial Accountant will aid the already technically strong accounting team with their half year end reporting requirements as well as provide support around internal management information.

The role responsibilities include preparation of the month end close process (journals, balance sheet substantiation, P&L reconciliations) as well as assisting with the statutory accounts and satisfying the reporting requirements (under IFRS). The role will allow you to provide commentary on income statements and balance sheet movements as well as variances versus prior periods on a monthly basis. As well running with the monthly reporting, the role will also allow you to get involved in project work to help develop and automate reporting and MI for the business and will require you to build and maintain relationships across the bank with teams inside and outside of finance (to include senior stakeholders).

This is a fantastic newly created role for someone looking to take the next step in their career and get involved with a broad reporting role. The ideal candidate will be either a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with and will have trained and qualified with a big 4 firm (ideally) or be at the nearly qualified level with experience with working in the financial services industry within a financial accounting or controlling environment. Knowledge of IFRS is also hugely beneficial.
